What is Adblue?

AdBlue is an exhaust fluid, not a fuel additive. It’s stored in a separate tank and is topped up via usually filled up either next to your fuel filler, in the boot or under the bonnet. It’s a trade name registered by the German car manufacturers association, bu is the most recognized form of Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) Tiny amounts of AdBlue are injected into the flow of exhaust gases. At high temperatures AdBlue turns to ammonia and carbon dioxide. Inside the SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) catalyst, harmful nitrogen oxide in the exhaust reacts with the ammonia and is transformed to harmless nitrogen and water. 0330 133 6469 Request Callback

The AdBlue and SCR system is a relatively complicated system with a vary of electronic sensors, modules and pumps, these systems can fail and can be expensive to maintain. A vehicle which is used on a regular basis will consume a large amount of AdBlue and the tank will need to be refilled on a regular basis.

Disabling AdBlue system is done via remapping process and does not require any mechanical action.
